Happy to hear that, but Winter Park is not terribly much closer than the Trader Joe's already in Gainsville. Maybe they will keep coming closer....

Much closer than the TJ's in Gainesville. I'll be packing up my cooler and adding Trader Joe's to my Costco, Marshalls, Christmas Tree Shop run that I do each month. In all it's about an hour and 15 minutes from TV... So worth the trip.. Anyone want to car pool?

You can get to Gainesville in an hour, if your not dawdling.

TraderJoes is building a distribution center in the Orlando area.

It's the adventure, not so much the drive. You never know what you'll find at these businesses and stores.....;)

going to winter park is not a grocery shopping trip..it stolling hand in hand in a shopping district, having lunch and just stopping to smell the flowers, and then you go to trader joes...up north we do a shopping trip that takes us 45 minutes from our home, going to sams, costo, trader joes and whole foods..so a trip to winter park would be about the same for us except there is no snow in winter park

To Gsinesville is an easy one hour drive and TJ's is right there. Never driven to Winter Park, don't know how to go or how find where TJ's is. I only go every 2 months or so to the one in Gainesville and it is so worth it.

$20.00 in tolls too.
Lived in WP for 8 years before finding the Villages and loved it.
Not the same but a lot more fun here.
Be sure to stop at Total Wine and take the boat ride at the end of Morse St. too.
Morse Museum and Harry P. Leu Botanical Garden.
Make a day of it.

What can you buy at Trader Joe's that you can't get at Walmart?

Also, what could they possibly have worth using that much gas to travel over an hour each way?

Back in Maryland, there was a Trader Joe about a half mile from me. They had some very good frozen food and I would go there if my wife was away and I needed quick food. Trader Joe also had a canned coffee drink called Triple Shot that I would take to work in the summer for my coffee break time.
Would I travel to Winter Park or Gainesville just to go to Trader Joe? No way! If I was in the area and a Trader Joe was right there, I might stop in to see what I could find but certainly would NEVER go out of my way for Trader Joe.
