Another sign of bad behavior. I live within viewing distance of the Amelia pool. A car pulled up about 7:30 ish and put towels on four lounge chairs and left. Now I know why these chairs are always occupied by the same boorish people. Shame on you.

A couple of simple solutions: since you saw this happen, go into the pool area, pick up their chair saving towels and put them in a pile by the trash cans after dipping them in the pool OR let it go and enjoy your great life in The Villages.

How about a third option? Change their behavior. I really don't need a lecture.

By George. AN excellent solution.
OP. I don't think it was a "lecture" it was more of a lighthearted suggestion. There is nothing much fair minded folks can do to change selfishness. It is very wrong. Seat saving makes most of us angry, and loud music at pools played by other folks there. We truly do understand what you are saying.

I would like to suggest you put your towels out at 7 am, sit back and see what happens.

This is what happens when our retirement community became a vacation community.

A chance for some new pool towels. If they are nice it would be worth the dive to Amelia Pool.

Just move the towels to another area. That will allow other people to use the lonnge chairs. If the chairs are empty when the people in question return they can locate the towels and take their desired chairs. Reminds me what happens in our church on Sunday. We have a lot of portable chairs due to high attendance at services so these chairs can be moved around, although it is obvious they shouldn't be as that impacts others sitting nearby. Anyway, occasionally some people like to expand their legroom so you see these "entitled" couples moving their chairs into the aisle and backwards. Unfortunately this squeezes people behind them and limits their legroom. My wife and I have no hesitation at all to push their chairs forward when they go to stand up during the service. No hesitation at all. We will do it more than once if they insist on expanding their space at our expense. Entitled people went out with kings and noblemen.

I find it amazing how some people are so fed up with things here in TV. I guess we've forgotten the days before moving here. High taxes, high housing costs, traffic, noise, pollution, stress on the job, messy neighborhoods, huge pot holes etc.
So someone places towels on a chair or chairs at the pool, several suggestions have been made on how to deal with it.
Dog poop problems follow the person home see where they live, return later and make a deposit on their sidewalk or driveway.
Saving chairs in the square sit your butt down and when they come over say oh by the way thanks for saving me a seat.
Crowds in the markets be thankful people have the money to go shopping or go earlier.
So play on the golf course ( I don't golf ) I thought it was supposed to be relaxing what's the hurry.
We moved here to get away from all the BS and by golly we have and are VERY glad we made the move almost 5 years ago. I can go to a pub, pool store, or just about anywhere meet great people and by the end of the night be exchanging cards or numbers. Chill out, relax and don't sweat the small stuff. If it's a real problem there are people who get PAID to handle those things, just make a call. JMO

Just think of it as if you are at a hotel or on a cruise ship, kindly fold up their towels and sit in the chairs.

"OR let it go and enjoy your great life in The Villages."
Didn't you go on to read the second suggestion - which was not meant as tongue-in-cheek as the first one was meant?

actually, I would just move their towels if there weren't any more seats, really!

I like the trash can lesson. They're not being nice so you don't have to be either.
