There was 2 building permits taken out by The Villages of Lake Sumter on 4/11/2013 for Sinkhole remediation work on new houses that the Villages owned. These houses were 1906 and 1912 Ussepa Oaks Lane located in the Village of Pinnelas in the Villages of Fl. The remediation work was listed at a value of $70,000 on each permit to repair sinkhole damage to these homes. The question that is open for discussion is whether the repairs were successful. I have asked about this but never been able to find out the outcome. I was wondering if any one knows what the outcome was at these homes. Also would like to know if anyone knows what people purchasing homes near these homes were told about it.

1906 has the window painted as sold with three names on it. It appears the people have not moved in yet. As for the house next door, you can ask them, anything else is 2nd or 3rd hand.

What was stated in the disclosures by the owner/seller in the closing documents is not public information as far as I know.

Buyers and their lenders and insurers have looked at that and know they're responsible for things they buy and sign the dotted lines for.

Some here are awfully eager to file lawsuits about something.....anything.....

why don't you just drive by 1906 and 1912 Ussepa Oaks Lane located in the Village of Pinnelas in the Villages of Fl and see if the houses are still above ground?

That would answer your concerns.

We just put a downpayment on a house on Buttercup Way, also in Pinellas, and not a word was mentioned by our realtor. The big sink hole in Buttonwood became widely publicized the day after we paid our downpayment... Realtor just says "relax- that's what your insurance is for" but from everything I'm reading there will be a huge deductible if we can even get sink hole coverage! Scared already and not even a resident yet!

all of your info is second or third hand, if you're so interested go there and get first hand info, if you don't live here then tell me what 3 or 4 sinkholes amongst 50,000+ homes means, other than for a community this size we have very few geological issues!

:agree: While all of the op's postings have some interesting information I really don't understand how they tie together or the purpose. What are you trying to say. I guess I am just dense.

It must have worked, both houses have sold. The Village Realtors would be required to disclose the sinkhole and repairs. They were both nice Designer homes and the one on the corner was discounted nicely, and just recently sold (based on the windows having owners names and a big "sold" written on them). When we bought our house South of Pinellas, our Insurance agent told us about it, not sure about TV alerting the neighbors in the area, but the local pool had daily discussions about it for a while. Does that help answer any of your questions? You seem to be posting lots of sinkhole related topics lately, and never respond back. Just curious, are you trying to incite fear, give TV a bad name, or just inform folks? I'm curious as to the motive for all the sinkhole threads you have started.
