They took out an ad so I guess they can tout their services.

Even so, if you're going to post something that is basically an ad, tell us it is an ad. Don't pretend you are posting out of some vague concern when in reality you're trying to drum up business. Think this kinda falls into the thread not too long ago about misleading titles.
In a sticky, Jan says, "There is a fine line between providing information to members and posting what looks like an advertisement. It's more often than not a judgment call by the administrators as to what to leave and what to remove. We do have advertisers who pay to run their banners here on TOTV. As you can see, one of them is a car dealership." How this post is not an ad, I'm not quite sure.
Even though Secure Foundations has a running ad, I, too, think the post should have been pulled. Sorry, guys.

Thanks for the support Red - I felt kind of silly after realizing that they also paid for ads.

Thanks Steve, I really don't care to comment on the veracity of their pitch but my concern was wether we can do viral ad campaigns. I think advertising within the thread should be kept to a minimum.
We all know that a particular regular of TOTV who runs an ice cream shop but you don't see them touting it all the time in the threads even though they advertise.

I actually found the basic content to be at least interesting and possibly very important. My entire issue is with their presentation and tone. Little bit of Chicken Little in there if you know what I mean.
Well, let's get on with all the other stuff!

Sinkholes, John.
I saw their add / discussion and in a way I'm glad they put it tout there but it impacts so few people can you imagine how many insurance agents got a call on this topic to ease their concerns found in the article.
