I have volunteered to inquire and obtain as much information about our/my neighborhood buying an AED. So of course, I am turning to all my knowledgeable friends here on "Talk." I would like to have a speaker address us at one of our monthly socials. My thoughts are for this speaker to inform everyone why it is a good idea to purchase an AED. I am asking villagers that have purchased one for information and ideas on where to begin this journey.
1. Who would I call to "get" a speaker?
2. What brand AED did your neighborhood buy?
3. Is there a ratio of how many AED's are needed per neighborhood?
4. What is a fair/usual price per unit?
5. Is the cost of this divided between each household?
If anyone thinks of something that I haven't, please feel free to add that information.
As always, thank you to all of you. You are all a wealth of information.
My e-mail is Kbarbato1@gmail.com. If it is easier to answer on here, please do.
Thank you again. :)

The Villages Safety Dept will give you all the help you need. They give the AED classes and will help you determine how many responders, etc. They will purchase the AED's also.

Here is a link to a neighborhood that has an AED program.

gillyland.com should offer contact info on the subject. We recently formed an AED community.

I started a very successful AED Program in Mission Hills and would be happy to discuss this with you. I raised the money, and also have a second fundraiser coming up for the AED Program with Petrina performing and a BBQ truck in May. You can email me at jane032657@aol.com and I will send you my phone number. We have 8 AED machines in our village, Mission Hills. Have raised about $28,000.
