The Great Lakes are very dangerous in the winter....This storm is coming right out of the north at 60 knots ....A few years ago I was caught in one of these storms on the Edmond Fitzsimmons ..( a small 18ft runabout).Fortunately for me , it was in a boat storage at the time.....
lucky to be here Fumar

No Fumar, we're the lucky ones that your here!!!
P.S. I was caught in something like that on a 100 ft yacht in the Mediterranean about 12 years ago. Never hung on for dear life like I did that day. Hugging the white porcelain god for hours. Will never forget that.

KATH..
I know what you mean Hon !!! I've taken a couple of two week vacations in the American and Virgin Islands on big ( 42 & 51 ft.) sailing ships that with my two brothers (and wife's) that I'll never forget , but I always kept my eye out for heavy weather .....One stinking cloud and I head for shore or a snug harbor......I have one brother who is an accomplished sailor so we were in good hands but I hate big water ..............
dry behind the ears Fumar
I got caught inside two unpredicted thunderstorms on Lake Erie in two days. Both had winds of 66 mph.
It was me, my wife and two kids in our 26-foot sailboat.
It's a long story, and did you know it can be green inside a thunderstorm?
Never want to go through that again if I don't have to.
