I'm in Michigan and often wonder what the weather is in TV. I do look at the temperature on TV's website and the cameras at the Squares but, is there something that gives a more detailed weather report that I'm missing. I have a weather app on my phone but it's not that great.
I think I read somewhere that TV's fire department can put an app on your phone. Does anybody have any information on it?

I'm not familiar with the app because I have an old flip phone (LOL). We had a frog strangler in Hillsborough. We are either in a lull or it's over.

The App is called Weatherbug and the fire station is one of the locations on the app for weather information. Specifically, it's fire station 51.

May is usually our "dry" month! Not this year so far! Better be drier next weekend, we are staying on property at WDW!

Is fire station 51 the one on Morse south of 466a? If so, that is really close to our home in Charlotte.
I'll put the fire department on my "to do list" for our next TV trip. Thanks!

Can't you just download the app from the App Store? It's a free app.

I originally misread Memason's post. After I read it again, I did download the app. It looks like a great app!
Fire station 44 is closest to my house and I'm now trying to figure out which one that is on the app.
But, if I remember right, an earlier post said you had to go to the fire station to get weather alerts. Someone said they got alerts even when they were a snowbird. I wished I saved that post.

Sable99, most likely the info you are talking about is the fire station will set up your weather alert radio for you if you can't do it yourself.

If you want weather alerts; tornado warnings, severe weather warnings, etc. Download the TORNADO app from the Red Cross. You can setup as many locations as you want to be alerted of weather. Good app and free...it's in the app store.
Enjoy.....

I have The Weather Channel app on my iPad and have it set to Oxford, Florida, since that is closer than the place where the weather readings are taken in The Villages. The app even gives severe weather warnings on the iPad.

I found the post by searching for weather alert. The post said to go to your fire department and sign up for Code Red Alerts. Apparently, you can also do it online in Sumter County.
I will post the link if I can figure out how to do it!

I use the Weather Bug app with my IPhone. It has a lightning proximity feature, Intellicast for my lap top. Sumter County Sherriff has an app called "Code Red" which will alert your phone etc. about severe weather, fires, smoke and Amber alerts.
The National Weather service has a Doppler Radar site with live radar looping.
