We would prefer to use a moving van line vs. Pods but I have been reading horrible reviews about them. All of them have many complaints.
1. Were you quoted one price and then charged another?
2. Did you have damage done to your items and if so were you reimbursed?
3. Did the truck arrive to your home within the time framed you were told?
4. Anyone use Allstate Van Lines? They gave us a reasonable quote
and considering using them for the move.
The big move is going to happen soon and would appreciate your input on moving lines.

We used United Van Lines from PA to TV. Worked out great. Packed in one day and furniture arrived within 1.5 hours of promised time, highway 466a was closed and caused much of the delay. There were only 2-3 pieces with minor damage that I repaired, nothing missing, and HERE IS THE BIG ONE, the furniture stayed on the SAME truck that was packed in PA, it was not transferred. I think this is when most of the problems occur. I would strongly suggest that you confirm NO TRANSFER.
Good luck with your move, and a BIG WELCOME to TV.

We used TV relocation services and were given 2 or 3 names of van lines that operated in our area of Virginia. We chose Suddath which is headquartered in Florida and has an office and storage very close to TV. Suddath worked in conjunction with Hilldrup United Van Lines in Virginia. Hilldrup came to our home and gave us an estimate which we thought was reasonable. We accepted the estimate. Hilldrup came to pack a portion of our home on time. Hilldrup and a Suddath moving van came on time on moving day. Our home and a storage unit were loaded on the Suddath moving van. We contracted Suddath to move our belongings to FL and put them in storage on their property near TV. Our belongings were in storage for 3 months while our home was being built. Our belongings were placed in pods at their storage facility near TV for storage. The pods were then delivered to our new home 1 at a time and unloaded. Bottom line, everything worked as it should have. They were on time, professional, cost did change but to our advantage as we did not weigh as much as estimated, and our stuff was delivered to our new home with NO damage. I believe Mayflower was one of our other choices. I called to get an estimate but never got a call back. I will tell you that we moved in January 2012 so the rates are lower because it is not high season for moving vans. Also there was only one other load on the moving van with ours. This makes a difference I am told. Since our stuff was going into storage it didn't matter when it got to FL. Actually our stuff arrived before we did as we didn't arrive until Feb. 2. LOL! I don't have their number but you can google them. We talked directly to the Suddath office near TV and made our arrangements. We highly recommend them. Good Luck and Welcome to TV! JC

Please call Jean at Suddath. We made the move 2 years ago from Staten Island, New York. Also had our stuff in storage, here in TV. We were moved into our home without a flaw. Price quoted was the price paid. No horror stories with our move. Goggle Suddath.

I've also had good luck with the big companies, United and Mayflower.
