My wife is being transferred to Orlando, and will be moving into our house in
OBG in 2 weeks. I, unfortunately, still have to maintain our residence here in lovely Ohio. I was wondering what are the state of Florida requirements for transitioning her Driver's license and the car registration. Also, what other recommendations would be out there for acclimatizing to Florida from 14 years in Ohio. Thanks everyone for all of your anticipated assistance.

That, she has already done. Unfortunately, I will have to continue to shovel for another 9 months.

Advise her to bring a checkbook to the DMV. It is expensive to register a car in Florida. She will also need certified copy of marriage license, passport, previous driver license, proof of insurance in Florida, and a few more things. Check with the Florida and Marion County tax and motor vehicle bureaus.

Curious about the reason for a passport and marriage license. We will be in Lake county.

Both are for identification purposes. The passport is the best ID one can have. There are other acceptable ones. Contact the Lake County tax office.
