View Full Version : Tommy has a situation

I have a situation I am not sure how to handle if it happens again. I have a Mini Cooper and parked my car in a space to see a movie in Sumter Landing. When I got out of the movie, a smart car parked behind me using the same parking space I was parked in, sandwiching me with only inches to maneuver my vehicle. A less experienced driver would have been unable to go anywhere. I know the rules with a car in space does not allow a golf cart or in this instance a Smart Car. If the vehicle were a golf cart, I would have moved the cart myself by pushing it into the street to allow me to escape without danger.
Who do. I call to get this idiot removed/ ticketed? It doesn't matter if my car is a Mini or Hummer? A space is a space. It belongs to me.

What an idiot that guy is. If you had the time you could hire 5 or 6 football players and have them pick up the dumb car and put it in a alley sideways. :)

Love it. Next time I will call my TOTV buddies and have them all rush done and do it. It'll be a fun story to pass on to our friends.

From what you wrote, you seemed to have manuevered your little car out of the space just fine - thanks to your driving skill.

You are out of the space and back home, I presume. Why fume over it anymore? It is all over. Knock back a Johnny Walker Black and forget it.

The person who parked so close to you was in the wrong. You know it. Life is too short to hold a grudge.

I don't see it as holding a grudge. If they get towed, then they will realize
what they did wrong.

Exactly. If the opportunity exists to make a factual complaint, do so. These morons with their self centered sense of entitlement for themselves need to be reminded of the rules the rest of us live by and obey. If the reminder costs, all the more memorable.

You certainly did the right thing Tom.

Why not. It will be a way to prove if you own a smart car,, it doesn't mean the owner is very smart. It will be a quick way to send a message. .

I agree witcha as I don't hold a "grudge" either but after finding a park and parking behind another cart (making sure he had a way out) and then after coming out of the store found that a cart had pulled in behind me, blocking me in. Seems some people have no consideration for others and as it so happened he had the same type cart and I moved it 2 blocks away. Still wish I had left him a note :swear:

I think I saw that "DUMB" car parked at LSL. I thought at the time that it was pretty stupid. I always try to occupy as much of a parking space as possible, when in the car, to try and deter people from blocking me in with a golf cart. Never even considered anyone would do this with a Smart Car.

BTW, I agree, call the police and have it towed.

You could have encountered this woman with her smart car. I have no idea what the commentators are saying?

I saw the post as wanting to know what to do in the future if he finds himself in a similar situation. It would appear double parking happens from time to time and we all know now how to handle this major inconvenience.

Many years ago, somke guys played a prank on a guy, who owned a beetle.

Carried it for two blocks, so the owner couldn't find it.

You can't do stuff like that anymore, as you probably be breaking the law.

I agree that Tommy has a right to be P-eed off, but a better idea is to have the police tow it. Maybe this arrogant, selfish individual, will think twice, about doing it again, after they have paid their fine, and subsequent towing charges.

Stupidity knows no bounds, until one gets hit, in the wallet. Then, you will have their attention.

It's not good to hold a grudge, but you get satisfaction, from helping someone see, they did some thing stupid. There are consequences, to behaving badly.
