I went down to the SS office on main st. in Leesburg today there must have been 30 people ahead of me, >:( is there a "good time" to go there when you won't have to wait an hour? I only wanted to get a card. Is there anywhere else you can go to get a card? >:(

In New Hampshire, you can call the Social Security Office. Did you try the internet?

Do yourself a favor and call SSA's toll free number 1-800-772-1213 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for advice. Avoid Mondays at all costs both in person and even the phone. That's true for most government agencies. People tend to speak with their friends and neighbors over the weekend and resolve that first thing Monday, they'll deal with it.

When I applied for SS, I made an appointment. At 10:30 they called me in and I was done. Eeveryone else was still sitting there waiting for their number.
