In honor of my FunTrivia BD (May 5) I am posting a link to a Quiz I wrote on Blackbeard. There is a NBC series premiering at the end of May and starring John Malkovich about Blackbeard.

Crossbones: Premieres Friday May 30 10/9c | NBC (http://www.nbc.com/crossbones?__source=Reso_Crossbones_SMR_Talent_Exa ct_Google&k_clickid=6007a716-a14a-ffa9-73cc-00003767efc7&k_prof=16&k_affcode=1208&sky=john%20malkovich)

I hope you will give this Quiz a try even if it is rather long at 25 Questions. I did a lot of research for it.

I took the quiz just for fun. Did'nt do that well. I'll have to check out this new series.John Malkovich is a very talented actor and like his work. I watched the first season of the new series on Starz called "Black Sails". Enjoyed it and looking forward to the second season.

I had to read several books on Edward Teach-- Blackbeard's possible real name-- to write the Quiz. We will probably never know his real name as he was hiding his connection to his parents and the rest of his family from what I gathered when reading the book by Robert E. Lee on Blackbeard.

The John Malkovich series supposedly starts in 1729. Blackbeard died on November 22, 1718. Blackbeard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackbeard) I wonder they will explain this one. Maybe, poetic license?

Smithsonian magazine had an interesting article on Blackboard in their February issue a few months ago.
