I have been using gel for about 5 yrs now and my salons in Utah and Ca use just LED lamps, not UV. The LED do not emit any tanning (burning) rays like the UV, and cure gel faster than UV.
I have only had my nails done once at Pinellas Plaza. Cute salon, nice and attentive staff. Techs seem very good. but they ONLY use UV lamps.
I left with my hands feeling sunburned.
Because I travel a great deal for work I invested in my own LED lamp and will do my nails myself on a regular basis. But It is nice to go and be pampered once in awhile.
Do all the shops in TV area use UV lamps? I was just so surprised that this beautiful new shop only have UV lamps. They are built into the manicure tables which is very cleaver indeed, but they have no portable lamps for Gel pedicures as theirs are all built in. So they only do regular polish pedicures. I thought that was a bummer. Gel just lasts sooo much longer.
I just thought it was odd.
Anyone know of a shop using the LED lamps? I thought that is what they all used these days. I guess it is a regional thing.
Thanks in advance!
