View Full Version : How do you carry your Villages ID?

We are fairly new residents and always worry about not remembering to take our ID to the pool. So we rummage through our wallet/purse for the ID, then aren't real sure where to put it when at the pool.
If we only take our towel, sunglasses, flip flops, hat, do we just leave it on a chair/table with those things??
I thought of punching a hole in it and attaching it to my golf cart key, but then what if we need it when in the car? Where else do you need it? At Rec centers I guess. Anywhere else?
Hubby want to just keep his in his pocket. But will the h2o cause it to self destruct?
Maybe easier to have a tattoo when closing on a property.......
Simple solutions I haven't thought of?? Please!!!

you are on target, however the new program that is being researched is inserting a chip in our necks,, as we really get older, they will be able to track us via gps, and shock us like a low power taser when you let your dog poop n someones yard or if u decide also on there yard!

Dotti, put iD in a zip lock bag and put it in your pool bag/carryall when you go to the pool. When just going around the villages, put in a small cross body bag with drivers license, few bills/money and keys.

I bought a small wallet at TJ Maxx and keep (only) ID and cash for pool, golf and rec centers.
Mine has a handle and clip so I can either hold it or clip it inside my purse for easy access.
It is bright hot pink so it is easy to spot in my beach bag or purse.

The research on the chip in the neck has been abandoned for a more economical solution, a chip on the shoulder. It is more economical because so many seniors already have one.

Let's not judge all seniors by a few TOTV posters!

Use the plastic ship card holders that zip close with lanyard like you see on the cruise ships.

The chip could also activate the pool gates for valid entry.

More important than what you carry it in....
limit the places you put it.
I have a place in my bag for the pool.
A designated place in my purse.
and a place I put it in the house.
As you can see, I miss placed it one to many times...

Thanks to those who gave serious, useful answers, here and by PM.
I try to not remove my card and place it in different "purses, wallets, card clips etc." because I think I will end up forgetting it with a quick change of plans.
My hubby has a waterproof "wallet" (glorified ziplock) that he used for snorkeling that might work.
I am sure that we will figure out a system. Just wondering what others do to have it with you at the spur of the moment.
Just thought there might be one system that many find useful.
Thx again!

I have a very, very small credit card sized wallet that I put my ID, basic essentials like drivers license, 1 credit card, and small amt of money. It has 2 windows in it so my ID's are visable without having to remove them. I carry my ID at all times. I think the zip locked bag for the pool sounds good. I got the wallet for $4.00 (yes, really) at the Market of Marion. Nothing fancy but probably cheap leather. I love it.

Use modern technology take a picture of your ID card on your phone it works for them too scan at the pool, and we almost never leave home without it.

I think chips in our necks would be the easiest.

Great suggestion. LifeLock has a free app that will do this for you.

I'm surprised, but pleased, that everywhere in TV will accept this.

This type of Village ID is not accepted at golf courses. You must show your ID as it was given to you.

My ID has gone thru the washing machine many many times as well as left in my swimsuit pocket. Still good as new.

As I am sure that my hubby will just stick it in his pocket and go straight into the pool most of the time!

When going to the pool, we put our ID's (no wallet, no cash)in a small fanny pack and leave them at our table with the towels. We find that works for us.
