No Joke. I need to shoot a fishing line over a line of tall trees in order to drag a ham radio antenna wire. I hate to buy a bow for just one day's use. Somewhere around February 6 or 7, administrator Tony is going to be here from Erie to help me with this project, and I will need the bow.
I will have to buy an arrow though, in order to create a special fitting for the line.
Please overcome the temptation to make a wisecracks about this post. ;D

Bow? Arrow? How about an Indian. Will you be selling tickets for this Wild West show? I'll take 4. Sorry, I couldn't resist, besides, I needed payback for banishing my search for a motorcycle detailer to the services thread. ;D :joke:

I've got a slingshot that can shoot 60 or 70 feet in the air, but I need to go about 600 feet across an entire row of trees, all of which are 50 feet high.

I imagine a call to someone on the archery group might get the job done. The head of the group is:
Thomas Lange (352) 205-7526
Your going to leave the wire in the air i assume? Who owns the 600 yards of trees?

Seriously....wisecracks aside.....a 600 yard untethered shot is possible. An arrow attached to fishing line strong enough to pull antenna wire that distance through trees would be extremely difficult if not impossible. Wouldn't the weight on 600 yards of line be extreme unless you were going to try it in increments?

I assumed he would try 50-75 yards at a time.
Maybe Talk Host is just busting!

I read the original the same way you did Russ...in yards. You're right, 200 yards is challenging but completely doable. Good luck TH....let me know if you decide to sell tickets.
Boomerang? I have an old one I want to get rid of. I can't throw it away.

I know this post is a bit old but maybe you'll catch this. I don't live in the Villages yet but is there a ham club there? Maybe one of their members owns one of those antenna shooters that are advertised in QST.
Also, .... 600ft? Wow. Are you operating 160 meters? In The Villages?
I figured if I ever move there (hope to) I would be consigned to loading up the leaders and gutters what with the antenna constraints. That, or put in a flag pole and load that up. Anyway..since the orginal post was back in January, were you ever able to complete the project?
