The admin/mods have sole discretion over that. If they deem it's confrontational, political, or off topic, they will close it. Also, you must have a certain number of posts before you can come on and blast a business. And you cannot advertise your own business free of charge. There may be other reasons. Check the guidelines, or contact them if you have questions.

Threads are closed by The Moderator for a variety of reasons, which may include:

1. The discussion turns to politics - a forbidden subject.
2. The exchanges between posters become acrimonious.
3. The subject matter appears to be exhausted and information is being repeated.

I'm sure there are other reasons, but this gives you an idea.

If you discern a reason for closing a thread, you may report it to The Moderator. In the upper right hand corner of every post, where the post is numbered, there is a triangle with an exclamation point. You can click on this and report the post.

What are moderators and administrators?

Moderators oversee specific forums. They generally have the ability to edit and delete posts, move threads, and perform other actions. Becoming a moderator for a specific forum is usually rewarded to users who are particularly helpful and knowledgeable in the subject of the forum they are moderating.

Administrators are the people who have overall control of everything that happens on the board. They oversee how the board is styled, what forums to create and how to organize them, what information to require from members and who to appoint as moderators.
