I was planning on buying a new Toyota Camry, later this year.

Has anyone had experience with Toyota dealership service centers?

I would like to buy my car at a dealer that doesn't give new owners grief!

Are the days gone, when car repairs are done, in a reasonable fashion?

Any dealers give out loaners?

Any recommendations?

Joe,

I use Phillips for repair/maintenance work on my Toyota. I like that Toyota has a national database on my car's history of maintenance. I can go to any Toyota shop anywhere and they can access my records. No need to keep hard copy records. I feel more comforatble at the dealership for maintenance even though it might cost a bit more. I've used Phillips for about two years with no complaints.

John,

When you have your car serviced, do they have a courtesy van to drive you home if you leave it there for the day ? If you have 1 car and 1 golf cart, how do people get home and pick up their car later in the day ?

Another thumbs up for Phillips Toyota. We've been very happy with their service. So far we haven't even needed to make an appointment, just go there. If your car is new under warranty sometimes auto dealers will give you a loaner car if they have to keep yours longer than a certain number of hours. They also have a nice waiting room with TV and free popcorn and coffee. I don't know about a shuttle since it is quite a ways from the Villages but worth asking about.

I have never had to leave my car there overnight. Usually I get there when they open at 7:30 and normally I'm out of there by 9:30. I would assume that they would provide transportation if you had to leave your car. On one occasion I did make an appointment and they were very prompt with that.
