I hope they provide enough spaces in the barking lot.

Kitties wouldn't lower themselves to playing in common places. Can you imagine 25 cats sitting on top of kitchen cabinets, disdainfully looking down on whoever's at floor level?

He wants to chase the squirrels, rabbits, ducks, etc. around the neighborhood so I always try to keep him on leash. We also have snakes, alligators, coyotes, opossums in this area so that's probably not a good place for a 9 lb Chihuahua/terrier to be loose.
I hear this is in the first section of the paper today.

I just read this thread and your post to Fireboy and he is :1rotfl:
Biggins and Lollipop are waiting anxiously to hear more details about the Atlas Recreation Center for Pets.
I assume it will be in Fruitland Park?

I did not see any dog park on the plat map that has been posted on TOTV.
Why assume it will be there?

It is mentioned in an article about the Morse family's plans for the Villages in the front section of the May 15, 2014 paper. No mention of place or when it would open.

We went to the meeting...yes a doggie park for you folks who have them. I think they showed a plat but it was hard to see on the screen provided. Not sure exactly where it's going to be located...somewhere off Morse to the south??!!

Sorry Danno, I have no facts.
Just pure speculation on my part.
There was a question mark at the end of my sentence.
I heard it called the Atlas Recreation Center.
I thought it might possibly be a new Rec Center in FP.
Maybe just a fancy name for a dog park.

It was shown at the meeting to be across or in the vicinity of the final country club in Brownwood, not Fruitland Park.

Can someone that was at the meeting please clarify it will be more than a dog park. A rec center sounds sooooo much better - like maybe training rooms, and indoor fetch, and could it be possible - a water feature???

And how nice to hear that they have adoptable pets available from the Animal Shelter.
Does anyone know the proposed timing of the Atlas K9 Rec Center?

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is an amazing place. It began in the '70s. They used to have a TV show about dogs they've rescued and rehabilitated. And cats and birds, too.

Info from facebook admin. I didn't see the exact location listed in this thread. Forgive if this is a repeat. :
The canine recreation center is planned to be across the street from the yet-to-be-built Belle Glade Country Club - the 12th and final country club for The Villages.
We are in the process of reporting on the new center, so keep reading the Daily Sun for updates.

Barefoot,
In answer to your question. I found this listed on-line. "Coming Soon Belle Glade Country Club, at the east end of Hillsborough Trail, off Morse Blvd., south of CR 466A, about half way to CR 44, The Villages, FL."

I had no idea Lake Deaton was such a huge lake.
The new Canine Center will be a wonderful addition for those people living South of CR 466A.
