Why are Villagers called Frogs?

Because we're here until we Croak....

As I heard it the term "frogs" was originated by law enforcement officers who referred to Villagers as frogs because they came down here to croak.

Many of the officers' calls were from concerned neighbors who called police to check a house when they had not seen it's resident for a period of time. At times when the police checked the resident was found deceased within the dwelling.
