I have taken the the Villages Transportaion van many, many times and most recently for a 6:45 a.m flight. You would need to be at Lake Sumter by 3:45 a.m. I have never ever had a problem. It's a great way to go and they drop you right at the door....no looking for the perfect parking spot, no turnpike tolls, and no love bugs to clean off of my car!

the airport shuttle is always on time. I have never known them to be late. don't confuse them with the outside van company who doesn't operate on a schedule.

When they depart MCO, do they always leave on time? Or do they wait for late flights or people who aren't there yet but who are "waiting for their luggage"?

Sometimes they wait an extra 5 minutes if someone calls in, but generally they run on schedule. There is always another shuttle leaving an hour later.
Why inconvenience 20 riders who are on time for one who is late for whatever reason.
That's what's nice about The Villages Transportation. On time dependability, whether it is departing or arriving The Villages or airport.

i used to use the village van which picks you up or drops you off at your home but they are now picking up/dropping off so many people south of the villages, it is now a much longer trip than just taking the villagestransportation.

I had to give up using TV transportation when they changed the dopoff to the lower level. I require wheelchair assistance and it's not readily available on the lower level. I also had a bad experience late one december night. I needed to take a cab from the station home but was pushed out of the way by a rushing couple who got the last two seats in the cab. It took over an hour for another cab to arrive with me waiting, alone, in the cold in a dark, deserted area. Never again.

We have used the villages bus/transportation many times. Wonderful! On time, courteous and comfortable. Just call ahead to make a reservation and a seat will be held for you. I even prepay with a charge card when I make the reservation so there is no money issues, just a tip for the driver. We are very happy with the service.
