I had one of the door-to-door guys come by for Century Link to try to get me to switch. I am in Collier and have fiber to the house, so the service should be very high speed. I am happy with Brighthouse and am not going to switch.

One of the things he told me is that Brighthouse will become part of Comcast with the pending merger with Time Warner. This is not quite true. Brighthouse works with Time Warner to get better pricing on access to cable channels - not quite the same thing as be owned by Time Warner. I searched the internet and found no indication that Brighthouse would be bought by Comcast. In fact, as part of the deal to get approval, they will be shedding a large number of subscribers.

The guy at the door also told me that everyone on my street, except for us, was on Century Link. I know this not to be true.

I reminded the guy at the door that going door to door was not allowed in TV. He did not seem to care.

A door-to-door guy from Century Link came by me in April 2013. I made the switch from Comcast to Century Link and am very happy with them. Cost is less and much more convenient for a snowbird not having to return equipment every spring and pick up equipment in the fall. When Century Link is available in southeastern Wisconsin I will switch. Presently only available in La Crosse area. Glad he stopped by, even if door to door not allowed.

I have had ComCast, Dish and DirectTV in the 4 years I've lived here, and now I am very pleased with CenturyLink. The TV reception and internet is superb and so is the customer service. By the way, it is AT&T that is buying ComCast, not Time Warner. My prediction is that in a few years there will be just one ISP for the whole country and possibly only one TV provider as well.

AT&T is talking about buying DirectTV. Comcast is trying to buy Time Warner

Bright House is fantastic (had them in Orlando, stayed "true" to their sales pitch and the monthly billing consistent. Comcast is a nightmare!!! You will spend more time on the phone on hold every month trying to find out why your bill is different every month. BEST is Centurylink PRISM....EXACTLY the same product as AT&T Uverse we had in Orlando...SUPERIOR....They even send you a statement to remind you to call them to see if you can lower your monthly bill with some of their recent new customer promotions!!...LOVE EM!!

we have Century Link and also happy, glad the salesperson did come to our door.
after switching Comcast still charged me for 2 months of service, even thou I didn't have any equipment, because the service man didn't physically "flip the switch",
also, it was 6 months until I was sent a refund check and many hours on the phone and on line chat in order to obtain the refund. Comcast is not customer service friendly.

Have had Century link foe a few days and so
far really like both internet and prism TV. I set up a new set today and found it to be fairly easy. Really like the channel selection internet at 10 is more than fast to download Netflix on new set.
