Which parade, Donna? They seem to have a parade every few months here in TV. One for just about every ethnic group.

Seem to remember a St. Pat's Day parade. They dyed the water in one of the Squares green for that one. St. Pat's Day this year in March 17.

Mardi Gras is February 5, 2008 but I do not remember TV always having a parade for that day.

Seems to vary from year to year for which days they do have a parade.

I really really really would like to see a TOTV float in the parade. I will provide the tow vehicle. I will also decorate my motorcycle and it can be part of the unit. I have no idea how to get permission to be in it. Will anybody volunteer to be chairman (ah.....person) of our TOTV float? If nobody has a trailer we can decorate, TOTV will spring for renting a flatbed trailer for the event. If there are two parades, I would like to see us in the Sumter Landing parade. I am stuck on jury duty and cannot get too active in this. Help, anybody?

If you can get someone to run this thing, I'll be happy to supply manual labor. Have never worked on a float, am clueless what is needed but I'm good with a glue gun.

Wow, wouldn't that be fun. There isn't much time to put something together for a float.
Maybe we should see if we could just get a TOTV banner made and march as a group.
Count me in for helping with whatever we decide to do. 040 040

I have to know when the parade is, so I can make plans to stay down there..(Won't that be terrible)http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/consoling1.gif (http://www.millan.net)

As soon as we can get some info on a parade, please post it..Maybe this year is too late for a float??

Unless I missed it, I do not recall a Mardis Gras parade last year.

Being a "snowflake" ( no comments please), the only parade I ever attended was the Columbus/Italian Day parade in LSL. I'll "give the floor" to Villages07 who is a FT resident and always has the correct answer to all my questions

Handie-flake,

I'm flattered by your comments.

Mardi Gras...It was a good party last year but I don't recall a formal parade.

St Patrick's Day....last year was a very good parade and party. My guess is that will be your next best bet for a parade entry. We should all keep an eye out in the paper for parade entry procedures.

Other parades last year were Columbus Day, Oktoberfest, and Christmas; For July 4th there were some informal caravans of golf carts going around the Villages. I can't remember if Cinco De Mayo was just a party or a parade and a party. There were also parties/special celebrations for Tartan Day (Scots) and Dyngus Day (Polish Holiday).
