Boats or campers in the villages....

Hi!

We are planning on coming down in October for the preview plan, and we hope to become residents of your fine community in the near future.

My husband and I were wondering if there were any rules against keeping a camper or boat on your own property when living in the Villages? I know that there are alot of rules and codes you must follow when living in an area with HOA's, but this is something that I haven't come across as of yet.

If we move to Florida, we would love to have a small boat for fishing, and we were wondering if it would be acceptable to keep a boat on our property as long as it was in a garage, and out of sight?

We really look forward to coming to The Villages later this year. I appreciate any information you may have on this subject. Thanks so much!

The only way you could keep a boat or camper on your property would be in the garage. There are several lots (for a fee) in close proximity for things of this nature that won't fit in your garage. Have fun while you're here, but keep in mind that is the start of snowbird season and things will start to be crowded.

There are also rules concerning where and how long you can park them temporarily while loading and unloading.

If the boat will fit in your garage, it will be fine. There are many Villagers that own small boats.

There are rules that are followed...not only with boats and campers but also lawn ornamentation. This should be drawn out for you in your deed..which you will sign upon closing.

You can keep anything in your garage--just not in your driveway. We have friend that have a boat in their garage--works well (but must be small-due to length of garage..you have to allow for trailer and tongue on trailer). Sometimes you can angle it the right way....
Not sure what Model house you want--but some models offer deeper garages--one reason we got the Lantana with the stretch.

i have seen some HUGE homes here that do have a garage large enuff to hold motor home in the garage,, it was a monster home but it has been donee, if u think ur going to buy. a patio villa an keep ur motor home here it just aint goin to happen, u will love this place it is like heaven.

You can keep a small boat in your garage, but you must share and make it available for all your neighbors to enjoy.
