Mother Killderr and her little ones

Watched a mother Killdeer and her little ones the other day. I got between the mom and babies by mistake. The mom would and limp and I thought she was hurt. I found out after research they will fake injury to try and take the persons attention off the babies.

Great pictures! We have a family on our street and have been fascinated by them! The babies hatch after one day and the mom and dad take care of them for 25 days till they fly. We saw the same broken wing display by the mom I am worried that the babies will be run over, because they are often on the street. This morning I did not see them at all!
