I posted this on the thread in which prayers were requested. I am starting a new thread because some folks didn't read it and are still carrying hope.. I have sad news for all of you who kept John in your prayers. John was a kind and gentle man and a brave one. He was known as Virtual Geezer on this site and his dream was to buy a home here in The Villages and to live out his days. That didn't happen. He has left this earthly home.

Here is the obituary.

Thanks so much for posting this on a new thread. Someone mentioned he had passed while we were away and I was going to search for the obit but this makes it so much easier. I know he is certainly in a better place and had a wonderful and caring friend in you and many others here in TV.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I thought he was a year round resident because he once sent me a PM asking for a recommendation for a grass cutting business.

I never got to know him and don't recall any of his posts.

You could look them up and read some. Go here https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/search.php?searchid=8468196 or if that doesn't work, go to Community at the top of the home page, go to Member List, and search the V's for Virtual Geezer. I think it's page 5 or so. Then you can click on Statistics and choose the "read all his posts" option. He was a very kind, helpful guy and a good poster.

So sad. So young. Thanks for letting us know. Another reason to treasure each day and count our many Blessings. Among them that we live in such a beautiful place.

Since I'm fairly new to TTOTV, I can't say that I remember seeing his posts, but he was so young, really just starting to enjoy retirement. So sad, RIP

I had the pleasure of meeting John a couple years ago. He was very intelligent and well spoken. I traded emails with him over several months, and considered him a friend. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, he would have been a tremendous asset to The Villages, and he will be missed by those who got to know him. RIP John.
