I'll be down for my Preview visit in late April and I want to play on two different championship courses in TV. I don't care which one is cheaper or more expensive, I want to experience two courses that will give me the complete flavor of golf at TV.

Any golfers out there willing to clue me in?

Mallory, Cane & Palmer are all pretty much the same in my mind.
Play 18 on 1 of them and you've pretty much covered them all.

Terra del Sol would be my 2nd choice as it's got a good sence of the older courses in TV plus it plays a little like those up north.

I can't speak for Havana as I haven't played there yet

Cane Garden and T Del Sol get my votes. Palmer seemed run down.

Yes it's the best course of all and I have played them all. Del Sol comes in 2nd.

Havana of the 3 nine hole courses:

Kilamanjaro is # 1 of the 3 nines followed by
Hemingway as my 2nd
Kenya is the 3rd best

Havana is just plain outstanding.

Really a hard question.
I am a 3 handicap, and played from either of back 2 sets of tees on all courses.
These are what I have played, and all 27 holes of ones that have 27.

Palmer- Very nice, although I think course may be a bit overated, but still a test from where I played. The wildlife was spectacular!!!
Mallory- Nice elevation changes, good greens, fairly wide open. Needs to mature to be really good.
Cane Garden- A true test from back tees, some very hard driving holes, good par 3's, beautiful drive thru trees, and again, spectacular wildlife.
TDS- Very good test, was one over going to 18, made a 9, so, I LOVE 17 of the holes there!!! Very nicely cut thru trees, narrow fairways.
Havana- Very dramatic elevation changes, beautiful views, again, wildlife very nice. when this course matures, will really be something.
Glenview- Not a real difficult course, as long as you avoid the 7,723,294 bunkers that are one the course!!! Loved the greens here, rolled very true.
Will be a Villager by summer of this year, and can't wait to play the rest. I haven't been on any of the execs yet, but will for sure be spending alot of time on them also, as practice on the shorter mid irons to short irons is as we know, along with putting, the most important part of scoring.

Well guys
Just wait until you start putting....on these courses the game is just starting when you get to the greens...
It took an evil mind to construct greens like these.....your gonna love them....

Which way does it break? fumar

Agree with the comments about Havana. I'm a lousy golfer who normally sticks to the Execs but played Havana last week. I actually shot a legitimate 41 on Hemingway, :hot: far and away the best 9 I've ever played on an adult course. Bias aside, it will be a spectacular layout with maturity.

Anyway, as a hacker, I also enjoyed Cane Gardens and especially the Amelia nine on Mallory and the Cherry Hill nine on Palmer. The 3-4 corner at Amelia is gorgeous and the two par 3's on Cherry Hill can really bite you.

Great responses everyone - Muscles, thanks for the very detailed explanation of all the courses. Not sure how my game will travel since these grasses are new to me. I'm sure the putting will be difficult as Fumar mentions.

If anyone is interested in getting out with me during that time (April 29, 30 or May 1) just drop me a PM or e-mail. (I'm a 10.3 handicap but remember it will be early in my season!)

Thanks again!

I love Hacienda Hills for the character - not just a grip n rip like Palmer. Cane Garden is also very nice.

I've been thinking since I replied to this thread the first time, and, if I had to pick JUST a nine, it would be the Hibiscus at Cane Garden.

Great, especially since my wife loves the grouper fingers appetizer at Cane!

I like all of the courses. Russ, I didn't know groupers had fingers, but I'll try them next time I'm at CG.

I have enjoyed all of TV courses over the years. I especially like Hacienda Hills and T Del Sol. The last couple of years I have taken advantage of the coupons in the paper and played Harbor Hills, Spruce Creek North, and Deer Island at Mt. Dora. A couple of other favorites off campus are Baseline and El Diablo up Ocala way. I also agree :agree: with the earlier post concerning Havana - a little seasoning and maturing will make it an excellent track.
Don't breath on your backswing. :)
