My wife and I went to Harry's seafood grille in Ocala Saturday. She had the crab cakes, which she claimed were the best she's had anywhere and she has had them from California to Pa. I had the ultimate Po boy. Both were great. Can't wait to go back

That is one of our favorite restaurants. And it's not mobbed in the winter like TV restos.

Their shrimp & grits are amazing. My husband likes their chicken tacos. Everything on the menu sounds wonderful, but I can't get past the shrimp & grits. Their menu has a New Orleans flare.

And, it is in the most wonderful old, old converted drugstore, with the old-fashioned, original small octagonal tiles on the floor with design. A delightful place; glad to hear about the crab cakes. https://hookedonharrys.com/locations/ocala/

It's located in the town square, which I didn't even know existed in Ocala until we took a rug over to a store there to be cleaned. On Saturdays there is a farmers' market.

We love Harry's. Don't forget to do the short survey on the receipt and you get a free desert on the next visit.

Hope you are right, but I have not had a good crabcake since leaving Maryland 3 years ago.

I know it's just June, but since you didn't know Ocala even had a square, file this away for December - Ocala's town square is transformed into something quite magical for Christmas. I've lived in Los Angeles and DC, and I've never seen anything quite as impressive as Ocala at Christmastime. It's like Las Vegas' Fremont Street without the slot machines :) Indulge yourself with a horse-drawn carriage ride. It's definitely worth the short drive - you won't regret it!

The best crab cake I've ever had was at Sardi's in New York but the red pepper aioli sauce on Harry's made up for it. And no filler

Ocala does a nice Christmas gig .... although IMO not as nice as Mt. Dora ... and if you are up for a longer road trip ... neither is as good as St Augustine.

The food at Harry's is good to very good and an excellent deal for the $$$$ Oddly enough, even though they started in Jacksonville and at one time had 4 or 5 locations in the greater Jax area .... their is not a single location left there.

I had the crab cakes at Hemingway's and they were incredible. The best I have ever had. Much closer that Ocala. :BigApplause::BigApplause:

Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes are the best. Crabs are running now. Pots baited. Fresh crab cakes from my kitchen this weekend overlooking the bay. None better!

I love crab cakes and will usually try them whenever I see them on a menu.

Speaking of crab cakes, I had them at Arnold Palmer. What a disappointment!
