I have a 2014 Club Car Precedent. My Club Car does approximately 18 mph at top speed. It seems most of the carts electric or gas have a lot more speed than mine. Is there any way to get more speed without changing motor or gears.

More performance for you CC may be increased one of two ways. Without a lift kit you may install larger tires and wheels on rear and gain 2.5 MPH. II the ultimate would be a high performance motor that will give you the extra torque on hills you a looking for.
For other post , this post refers to electric CC Precedent.

There is another way. You can change the magnet in the speed governor. This adds more N S poles making the speed limitor think it is going slower than it really is

How about a magnet with less poles per revolution, what would that do?

I changed from 8 inch tires and wheels on the rear a couple of years ago to 10 inch. Went from 18 mph to 20. No change in handling and no longer leading the pack. Totally painless.

the magnet is actually like 8 magnets; 4 north poles, 4 south poles. the poles pass a hall effect sensor which converts the rotation into electrical pulses. (off-on-off-on-off-on, etc) the controller counts these pulses and puts the smack down on your throttle once you hit the limit of speed code 3. I have one and it works

Edjkos, I asked you a trick question. There is truth in changing magnets but you must reduce the poles in a magnet to fool the controller. The stock magnet in a Club Cart stock motor has 8 poles in the magnet and to fool the Controller you need to convert to 4 poles.
