One night we were at Spanish Springs for the music and a woman looking very much like this woman's mug shot was sitting in front of us. She was all over her male companion in a very embarrassing way. She eventually dropped to the ground and put her head in her partners lap. He had the good sense to leave. As they got up she fell and he removed her from the square with a great deal of difficulty. It was quite a display. This sure looks like the same woman.

We can all get a little chuckle reading about this incident, but it's also very sad in a way. To think that one of our neighbors could be so starved for attention and affection that she would resort to such behavior. Yes, substance abuse may well have contributed, but still a sad situation.

A Villager and a man nearly 20 years her junior were arrested on disorderly conduct and indecent exposure charges after a deputy found them having sex at the pavilion at Lake Sumter Landing Market Square.
The incident took place at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Arrested were Margaret Ann Klemm, 68, of The Villages, and David Alan Bobilya, 49, of Summerfield.
The deputy’s report indicated that Klemm’s pants had been removed and her shirt was pulled down. The report also indicated that Bobilya’s jeans and underwear were down around his ankles.
When the deputy arrived on the scene, he ordered the couple to dress.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Klemm had recently been arrested in Sumter County for driving under the influence, the arrest report said. She told the deputy the charge had been reduced and she was told to report to probation soon.
Both Klemm and Bobilya were transported to the Sumter County Jail.
The Pavilion at Market Square is a place for entertainment and prestige. In addition to nightly entertainment, the stage has a place from which many prominent politicians have addressed Villagers. Those big names include Mitt Romney, Gov. Rick Scott and George W. Bush.

Imagine if every drunk hanging out at the bars on the squares got their picture posted online when they make a public jacka$$ of themselves, and they have a family and have to earn a living. My parents told me growing up, "it takes a lifetime to form your reputation, and only a minute to destroy it".

Posting their pictures online is not necessary since this was voluntary and not predatory behavior.

My thoughts exactly. I hate to admit to being sexist, but when a man does this I don't find it so surprising. I don't expect women, an apparently well-educated woman, to be off acting the fool with a man who can do her absolutely no good.

This online version of putting people in stocks in the town square without a trial is also disburbing because of the big time celebrities and politicians whom the media allow to be immune from public scorn, by selectively publishing nothing about THEM and their gross misconduct/corruption.

And I agree about the sexism mentioned by missypie and patty55....that it's often "admirable" when an old guy gets a young bimbo-trophy. Again, the media pretty much decides who gets trashed and who does not. Too often we see mug shots of an arrested welfare mother of ten, but nobody EVER mentions, much less shows, the males who are supposed to be behaving like fathers to the offspring.

I liked "the other" Villages news site until I saw these photos. I hope they see this and take them down. It's not like this couple is "Wanted" for a crime against others.

I don't think it is unbelievable or inconceivable to gather facts. It is a subject of interest to the people who posted. Which is a LOT of people...including you.

This is the first time I have read anything exactly like this happening here in The Villages. It has had many, many, posts. Sometimes it helps to try to see the real person behind the headlines. To find out more can be nosy or it can cause people to take pause and catch a glimpse of the person behind the issue.

Let's see if I understand this. If you are arrested for DUI, it is OK to post your name and photo. If you are arrested for PSUI (public sex under the influence), it isn't... I guess that I don't quite see the problem. If you break the law (and indecent exposure and lewd public behavior is against the law), you can't expect that behavior to be ignored with a shrug and a "people will be people." By your late 60s, it is sort of expected that you have figured out that somethings simply are not done in public.

A previous arrest of one of the folks for DUI tends to make me less tolerant. Perhaps this will give the judge leverage to order treatment.

Bet if someone tried to get the squares made "clothing optional" the same folks upset by the current publicity would be upset that at the prospect of making it all legal.

My Mom always said that if you don't want to read about it on the front page of the NY Times, then you shouldn't do it. We can argue about whether or not their mug shots and names should be public, but that will not change the fact that this is the age we live in, and stuff like this will always be published. Witness the fact that close to 10,000 people have read this post. These folks do not have to worry about their dignity being stripped away (no pun intended) by a newspaper article, they did that all by themselves. I believe that the very powerful disease of alcoholism had a lot to do with this. I hope she gets the help she needs. But she chose to drive drunk previously and she chose to act without any class and dignity last night. No one can help her until she wants to be helped.

His description of the Villages seemed incredibly skewed IMHO. Community Watch probably called them after hearing all the grunts and groans. They do have people patrolling the Squares to prevent break-ins and the like. Chasing off feral cats seems to be their purview. In this case... well, I am not going there.
