We are actively house hunting. We have been concentrating on Designer's. But Villas are starting to catch our eye. We have noticed that many Villas have a gate going to the rear of the unit. That's the best way I have to explain it. My question is.... is that gate wide enough to drive a golf cart thru to have it behind the house? Or, is that a no-no. Hope this make sense. Thanks in advance for any help.

Our gate was 40" wide so our cart would not fit thru it.

you can widen it, our neighbors did theirs, to 6ft. wide

Mom and I rented a courtyard villa in May. I don't think you could use the gate at that villa for two reasons. The gate was on the side of the neighbor's drive and I think you would have to drive over their driveway and your landscaping to enter the gate. Also, their air conditioning unit was very near the gate and I'm not sure if there was enough room to get around it.
I might have considered a villa when we were looking but I couldn't get past the 1 1/2 car garage! I know they are building more villas with two car garages now but most of them are on a golf course and out of my price range!
If anyone is interested in renting, the villa we stayed in was very nice.
