Hello gang,
Is anyone interested in joining me at Catfish Johnny's on Friday for dinner around 6:00 pm? It's about 30 minutes (22 miles) southwest of TV, looks nice from their website (CATFISH JOHNNY'S RESTAURANT (http://www.catfishjohnny.com)). Their friday night special is "all you can eat" whole catfish for $12.95, and certainly all kinds of other seafood selections :-))

i have found it is frustrating to try to organize things because many of the usual suspects do not check the forum every day....might help to send out an email....i plan to join you! sounds like a nice excursion for a friday night :)

Dianne wants us to all meet at SEABREEZE REC CENTER at 5:30PM.

Look for us just to the left as you enter from Buena Vista entrance.

Here is the plan for this FRIDAY evenings fish fry outing. We will meet at Seabreeze Rec Center at 5:30PM and carpool from there.

I would like to go and just talked to Ronnye and she wants to as well. But she wants to drive and I can ride with her. Will everyone be able to sit together (maybe) and are reservations required (probably not)? I looked at menu and they have a wonderful selection for those of us that aren't big on all you can eat. Should be a fun get together for dinner and socializing with fabulous friends. Dianne, I knew you couldn't stay away from your organizing skills too long. LOL

Chachacha, you are such an inspiration! I want to be just like you when I grow up! lol
I made reservations for 10-12 at 6:00, but I think I should change it to 15? I'll call them again...
See you all at Seabreeze at 5:30 :-))

My wife and I went there for the first time last evening. Good fish and good service. Nice and clean.

thanks for a simple great idea, Hank. I enjoyed the company and the food. Next time I'm getting fried oysters. It was fun just to ride thru the country...

Way to go Kitty with your comeback! Evidently village shooter never heard of farm bred catfish which is what Catfish Johnny's serves and which you should always ask for.

I have always enjoyed catfish. Probably one of the better tasting fish around here.

We enjoyed our outing to Catfish Jonny's. I had the Catfish without the bone. Didn't have the "fresh caught" taste I'm used to eating. Now I know it's farm raised & that might make a difference. We were stuffed but ordered the Carmel Sundae, yum!

FYI,Nearly 90% of the "FARM RAISED" catfish are imported to the US comes from Vietnam, where use of antibiotics that are banned in the US is widespread. Furthermore, the two varieties of Vietnamese catfish sold in the US, Swai and Basa, aren't technically considered catfish by the federal government and therefore aren't held to the same inspection rules that other imported catfish are. You have no idea what those Vietnamese people are doing in those rice paddies, that we dropped Agent Orange on in the late 60's and 70's that will take 200 years to get out of the soil. So enjoy your "Farm Raised" catfish!
