I was walking my dog around Lynnhaven pool and heard a woman I did not know singing about kids who never grow up. I live in Lynnhaven but do not frequent that pool nor any others. They often seem to be a little too much focused on gossip and the like or they have various cliques with different interests. I have walked a dog around that pool though since January 2007.

Of course, I thought she might be referring to me as I am a 55 year old living in a retirement community wih my parents. But this would seem very shallow on both our parts as I only heard a snippet of what was going on at the pool. And, if this woman's singing was directed at me she would only have whatever information might be floating around at that time among the people at that pool.

We all have many aspects of our lives-- tiles in the mosaic. And most people only show others a few of those tiles and try to hide many others.

I have tried to tell some of my life story on TOTV and reveal many of these tiles but some of them are still very much hidden as I would assume many people on TOTV have stories they would want to keep private about their lives.

Since I have been an advocate for survivors/victims of crimes and their access to practical information based on many of my own experiences with the legal system from February 28, 1976 onward, I have had to make certain past and present experiences very public. Other parts are still very private though.

I just hope that this woman's singing was not directed at me, or if it was, she bothers to read more of my many posts on TOTV to get a better idea of where I am coming from-- i.e. that she looks at more tiles from the mosaic of my life to get a better picture.

I live in Lynnhaven and wIsh to apologize for any ill treatment you have received. Some tiles are not always square and perfectly shaped to fit, this seems to be the case with the singing lady. If you look at the whole mosaic design , the imperfection blends in ,or sometimes gives the design character . Please try to view the situation as a whole design, imperfections and all.
Everyone of us has probably been through some trauma or another, some have buried or forgotten it as a way for them to cope.
Lynnhaven pool ladies ,please remember what Thumper said" If you can' t say anything nice, don't say anything at all!"

I read a quote once ."Success should be measured by what one has overcome not by what one has achieved. "(Sorry I cannot remember author, perhaps Booker T Washington?)
Point I am getting at , is keep your good attitude and don't let anyone make you feel like victim again

Thanks. I am hoping that the various documents I sent to the ObamaCare people back on March 13, 2014 are being investigated. If so, that should make me a survivor rather than a victim. I have always viewed my activities towards helping victims of violent crimes as attempting to make them survivors as much as possible in their own terms that's why the fight for links in libraries to support groups, legal rights, and anything else the people who actually deal with victims of violent crimes would like to see in their libraries or highlighted by their police department web-sites and library web-sites. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/84750-post2.html https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/medical-health-discussion-94/affordable-care-act-hope-not-political-107577/ https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/843033-post5.html

Someone removed the two e-mails sent by me from my then Palm Harbor home that had gone up on two University (Brandeis, Muhlenberg) Student newspaper blogs. I had sent these e-mails out around 2003 and they emerged on these web-sites in 2011. Now, they are off again. Maybe, someone is taking me seriously for once? I usually hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I could not prove my assertions in them and it might have been too late for anyone else to get to the truth after so much time had passed despite the extensive documentation I had tried to do from 1991 onward. They covered my experiences from around 1991 through 2003.

With all the violence in the US there are going to be more people who find themselves in a situation like mine where people can learn about improving things by listening to their experiences about what went wrong as well as what went right. There is that problem still that people are more concerned about the image of something rather than trying to empathize with people who have been dragged into a situation without much control over anything.
