I will be closing June 11 on a new home in Dunedin Village. The transporter with my car is scheduled to arrive right around that time. Since I will be really new, I don't have any idea of where to suggest I meet the truck to unload the car. I was thinking maybe a big box parking lot. Any suggestions in that area? Thanks so much!

Try any Rec Center near your house.

The large transport trucks can not get into the narrow villages streets. We unloaded our car at WalMart. There is one on 441 in Leesburg. Makes it easier for them too.

That is not true. We live in a loop. They unloaded our car at our house.

The 53' moving van had no problem on my cul-de-sac.

I've seen transporters unloading at Regional Rec centers several times.

The rear parking area of Brownwood Paddock Square worked well for all of the tractor trailers that brought the Clydsdales in for their show there - should work for an auto trailer - and would be closer to Dunedin than a walmart or other shopping center I would think.

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of Brownwood Paddock Square. That will be close to me. He told me that he doesn't drive into gated areas. I had not thought of it. Thanks again as I think that fixes my problem!

I used a broker (I'm on my own and know zip about shipping a car so went with a 5 star broker with great ratings). Did internet research on the whole process. Price not the lowest - I am paying total of $1375 to ship from Fairfield CA to Florida. Price was upper mid range amongst all the quotes I got.

So far, so good. But of course I haven't actually gotten my car yet. That will be the final determination. Scheduled between 11th and 15th. The transport company is JPTS Assured Auto Brokers, Inc. 11203 49th St N, Clearwater, FL (727) 556-0828. You could try calling them directly and saving the broker fee.

So far, great experience. Broker called me on June 3rd that they had a transporter and picked up my car in California the next day as scheduled. Broker, Dale, responds very quickly to any questions and returns calls promptly. Now I just need to get there and get my car! Next week. I'm ready.

There is a Reliable Carriers here http://www.reliablecarriers.com/contact-us/ that Bill & Brillo used and recommended on a prior post. I don't know if it's the same one, but you might give them a call.

I would use Sparr Building and Farm Supply

6000 Signature Drive
Wildwood, FL 34785

352-330-1718

Located off of HWY 44 at Powell Road across 44 from the Publix under construction.

Plenty of room for truck to maneuver.
