Red Sauce capitalizes on news, introducing ‘Sex on the Square’

Red Sauce has introduced a new drink called “Sex on the Square.”

Just when you thought Happy Hour in The Villages had reached its peak, a local restaurant has upped the ante with the introduction of a new drink to stimulate your desire for something a little different.

Red Sauce, across the road from Sumter Landing and the now infamous Market Square pavilion where a couple was recently arrested while sharing an intimate moment, has created a drink in honor of an arrest destined to become a Villages legend.

Sex on the Square, a concoction of light and dark rum, pineapple and orange juice, whipping cream, and to complete the impact, a cherry on top, has made its debut for $3.75.

I hope the nabbed couple have some sense of humor about all of this.

I think it is disgusting to be literally capitalizing on someone's very sad behavior. It is clear the woman was not doing well and for sure is not doing well now with such crude focus on her. Having been arrested on a DUI shortly before and then obviously drunk again to put herself in such a situation, people might feel a little compassion for her rather than lower themselves into high school gossip and snickers. People that are humiliated like this sometimes do the only thing left to stop the humiliation that would leave everyone who participated in the big laughs feeling like a piece of crap as they should. So knock it off.

I have a terrific sense of humor. Frankly, better than most. However, rather than luxuriate in other people's misery...even self inflicted, I don't spend my life grinding other people into the ground for my laughs.

Unfortunately, when they decided to cadoodle in front of a crowd, they also decided to become the brunt of jokes. We all need to think before acting. EVERYONE knows that this behavior is wrong....including these two. THEY made the decision, not the folks making jokes.

There is a point where the humor becomes stale and redundant. There is also a point where humor becomes humiliation and is no longer really all that funny. I know it was something different and unusual, but enough already! Let it go so this sad lady can hopefully put this in the past. If she wises up and decides to get cleaned up it will not help to still be the joke of the day. HER DAY HAS PASSED!

:agree: This behavior is indicative of emotional problems. Public ridicule doesn't help.

In the photos, the look in their eyes shows nothing but abject pain.

Some momentary joking around is understandable. But quickly people started "kicking a dog when he's down". Come to think of it, people on here wouldn't treat a dog like this.

On another note, I thought the o.p. had posted a joke to start of this thread. But when I looked in "the other newspaper online", I saw it's an actual article there. They're lowering themselves to the tabloid level, I think.

I find it ironic that a woman that has a serious drinking problem would have a new drink named in her honor.....or dishonor depending on how one views this situation.

Personally I hail from that side of the argument of " I don't kiss and tell". obviously I didn't do the kissing but out of respect for the lady...............

Drinks:

1. Sex in the Square.

2. Mr. Midnight.

3. Ms. 10:30.

4. Almost Midnight.

I think a person who got a DUI and then continue to get drunk, is not sorry for their actions, and didn't learn anything to improve their behavior. They are just sorry they got caught, by LEO.

Just like being married for the seventh time. Could all six previous spouses, be wrong? One must look at what they did to contribute to the problem, and not be looking to blame others.

Sorry, no compassion for those who do things wrong, and have no intention of modifying, their actions.

I don't think it's shameful to have sex, but please, get a room!!!!!

Has this thread hit this point? I don't have an answer to the question, but possibly it could be considered.

"Bullying is typically a form of repeated, persistent, and aggressive behaviour directed at an individual or individuals that is intended to cause (or should be known to cause) fear and distress and/or harm to another person’s body, feelings, self-esteem, or reputation. Bullying occurs in a context where there is a real or perceived power imbalance.... Bullying is a dynamic of unhealthy interaction that can take many forms. It can be physical (e.g., hitting, pushing, tripping), verbal (e.g., name calling, mocking, or making sexist, racist, or homophobic comments), or social (e.g., excluding others from a group, spreading gossip or rumours)."

We always get a lot of flack from our friends "Up North" regarding the alleged STD situation in The Villages. This episode is sure to travel far and wide so it will just add to the image some folks have of life here. I vote to just have some fun with it and keep laughing at them. They were caught by authorities and probably have it "coming". Attention-starved individuals often work hard to be recognized.
