My grandkids are coming next week, and I want to show them some real Cajun cooking from a real coon-ass. Where can i get shrimp live from the boat. I want to buy from the dock. I realize that it might be a drive just wanting to create a memory for them, (mostly a memory for me) . I am sure they would just as soon stop an get a happy meal. However we are going to do this pioneer days way, In our conversion van with A/C and wireless internet and cold beer in the cooler.
Anyone have any ideas where to get the shrimp from the boat? No I dont want go to lighthouse seafood on 466

You can try southern Louisiana. It's a bit of a drive, but I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for there.

Here is the link to a fresh seafood market in Old Homosassa.......about a 1 hour drive from here:
Shelly's Seafood & Fish Market | Homosassa Florida 34448 (http://www.shellysseafood.com/)

Might also like to try The Freezer restaurant there..........cooked fresh when ordered and oh so good!!

Here is a place that we used to go just west of Crystal River on Fort Island Trail about half way between Hwy 19 and the beach. Shrimp Landing. Shrimp boats on site.
Shrimp Landing Crystal River, FL, 34429 - YP.com (http://www.yellowpages.com/crystal-river-fl/mip/shrimp-landing-8835868?lid=8835868)

Probably southern Mississippi is a bit closer
