Just returned from Mardi Gras........cant remember the last time I had so much fun. Great zydeco music, fabulous costumes, fantastic food, and incredible people!!! Ahhhh TV, Its the greatest!!!

And on a more serious note, where can you see little toddlers to seniors in wheelchairs all out on the dancefloor laughing and having the time of their lives. For anyone who hasant been here for Mardi Gras its worth planning your trip next year at this time of year.

I think I saw Fumar on the dance floor strutten his stuff!!!!!

:hot: :hot: :clap2:

We went to Mardi Gras too and had a good time--as usual. Only problem I see is that there is no longer a parade. Used to be one and it was great!!!! Mardi Gras is suppose to have parades. The Villages also used to throw beads instead of selling them.

At SS's the people in costumes were giving out beads for free! I think! We just took them from them, thought that was why they were walking down the street with loads of beads wrapped around there arms. Uh O! were we supposed to pay for them???? :dontknow:

The ones for sale where at tents. I believe the costumed people buy and give out the ones they have. Next year I am going to bring hundreds that I have collected and throw them.

Hope, I took hundreds of beads to the square. If I saw someone with no beads and no smile, I "beaded" them. They all responded with big smiles and thanks. They felt good and I felt great!! It was so much fun. Some came up to me later and thanked me again. It never ceases to amaze me how small acts like this can make people so happy. What if we all did
large acts of kindness each day? What a world this would be.
Friends, please don't stop waving to people as you pass them. Smile, be happy and watch it return to you. Deb

I had a ball. Wandered around, took some pics, talked to all kinds of people, bought my beads (even bought some flamingo beads to send to California). I was supposed to meet up with some neighbors but could never find them. Ended up goofing around with four ladies from Kentucky. What fun we had and how nice that people would include a stranger in their group. I LOVE THE VILLAGES!!!!

I am from Mandeville LA just across the lake from New Orleans and we spent four days down town, So if you won't to see a lot of parades come here just one time and you will love it. I also think that the villiage parades would be nice so i hope next year they will have one
