Is seems that comcast is the best choice for internet in the historical section. Assuming that is true I would like to buy the best wireless router to have ready before my installation. I dont need anything super fast, 5mb is fine.
- Is Comcast the best internet service?
- What wireless router is best? Anyone selling one?
- Does comcast have any free channels coming over the coaxial cable if one buys only internet?
- Would an indoor digital antenna work in Silver Lake, are outdoor antennas allowed, who installs them?
thanks much

If you call Comcast, they'll suggest routers and modems that are compatible with their equipment. We bought both from Amazon after checking prices.
You'll save a lot by buying your own as opposed to renting them from Comcast.
As to being the "best," well, they may be the only game in town. Good luck. Hope this helps.
Sorry--can't answer your other questions.

The new Comcast Internet Modem has the wireless built in. So a wireless router should not be required.

I'm in Silver Lake and have CenturyLink. Really like it. I do my level best to not use Comcast for much of anything.

Do you have Century Link for television as well? Is Century Link a satellite dish system?

Comcast is the best Internet service provider in The Villages period. This may sting a bit because people love to hate Comcast but Google results show the speeds it sees on our area. Comcast gets an HD rating while Bright house and Century Link are rated as standard definition quality. They rate these ISPs based on video streaming rates from there YouTube servers. The numbers don't lie.

The best modem is the Motorola Surfboard 6141. Best not try and save a few bucks here. Buy the good one.
If you sign up for Comcast Internet you can use there coax cable network like a huge antenna and get all the channels you'd get if I sold and installed an antenna for you.

I use Comcast with a Motorola Surfboard 6141 Modem and an Wirless Apple Time Capsule 2TB.
Here are my speed results.

They have a list of what to buy on their website. And they include an affiliate link to buy direct from Amazon. They will get a commission if you use their link.
Regardless of what you buy make sure they don't charge you for it. Every so often I see a charge on my bill for my customer owned modem.

Centrury Link does have a TV offering - it called Prism. I am not sure where, in The Villages, it is offered - probably below 466A????
Where I am located, Lake Deaton, Century Link is fiber optic to the house.
