Hello everyone,
Sorry to drag this issue out but has anyone been able to purchase the sinkhole endorsement from an insurance company on a resale home? I called the Villages Insurance and was told it's nearly impossible to get on a resale. While looking around TOV I get the impression that most of the people that have it purchased their home new.
I have recently accepted an offer on the sale of my home and we are trying to decide whether to buy a new or a resale home. My wife and I would prefer a resale. Thanks for your input.

If you're a AAA member they are still writing sinkhole insurance. You have to insure your car & home with them to get Homeowner's Ins. with them.

Call Elaine at Allstate 352-753-4340. Talked to her last week and they are writing sinkhole insurance on resales. You will need an inspection.

A poster reported on another thread that State Farm is now writing sinkhole insurance on resales. This could be another company to call and check out.

there is criteria before you can get sinkhole insurance. one is if there has been a sinkhole within 3 miles of your home you are not eligible. that stopped me. there was a small one 2 streets over.
