Hello everyone
We are closing on our house soon and will need a good watch company until we can move down permanently. WE were thinking about Affordable Home Watch or Villagers Home Watch. Does anyone have any experience with either they would like to share good and bad? Thanks in advance, can't wait to be FROGS!

We have used Lighthouse Home Watch (******************************* *Your home. Our Priority.** Let your home be ou - Home (http://www.lhhomewatch.com) 352-445-3250 Jamie) for several months. This is a family run business and they live in The Villages. They do everything from airport to door shuttle, checks on the house, and will receive delivery's for us. They are in constant communication, are very professional, and the prices are quite reasonable.

We have been using Thevillagers home watch. They are outstanding! Fair priced, extremely responsive. They go beyond what they say they will do. We highly recommend them. Ken and Mari

We just purchased a new construction home in Fernandina, which closed in May. We were able to come down for 10 days in early June to finish furnishing and do some decorating and etc--------we basically scrambled the entire 10 days with multiple trips to stores and waiting for deliveries-------but we did not have time to interview a home watch service---------There are dozens of them??????
How do you pick one?? All are similar in pricing, with similar services. With my luck, I don't want to pick the "bad one"---------
Since we returned home for a while, I worry the air conditioner stopped (or did I even set it right?) , storm damage, humidity, break ins and/or etc.------------I need some peace of mind :)
Are there any horror stories with some of these home watch services???

I posted in the original thread with Lighthouse Home Watch and no horror stories. They check everything from air to golf cart while we're in PA. Excellent communication. We interviewed several and many provided similar service. It was a hard choice. We felt most comfortable with Jamie and so far, have not been disappointed.
They advertise on this site, but we found him through word of mouth.

We have used The Village Sitter, that's Charlene and Steve, at 267 481 0588. They are terrific, take care of everything, and let us know immediately if there are any problems. Hope to have them until we are fulltime.

We highly recommend Charlene of The Village Sitter. Her husband Steve is a member of Community Watch as well. Our 2 dogs also give her 2 paws up!
She reacted quickly by removing her company advertising from her car when the breakins were occurring. A red flag that no one is home.
She goes beyond and even told us how to save money on AC filters!
We suggest them to anyone whether its house watch or dog sitting.
Professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
See her number in the above reply.

I've been very pleased with Bernie Coluccio of B & B Home Services for a couple of years now.
He checks our home regularly, knows what to look for and what to do, and is very dependable. He is very responsive to concerns and easily reached.

We also have Charlene and Steve check in our home while we're away. It's so nice to see their emails - they send pictures when they spot something odd and often have already done something about the issue. Great folks...

We have used Villages Watchdogs for the past seven years.
If we are in a hurry when we leave TV for an extended period of time, they make sure everything is shipshape for us.
They check our home weekly while we're gone, and before we return, they turn the fridge up, the hot water on, etc.
We trust them.

We pay 40.00 for the Village sitter. There are some extra fees if you need extra services for letting people in or like 1.00 to replace a light bulb!!! They come once a week and give you a detailed inspection sheet!!!! Lots of free services included with their services!!! Sweeping cobwebs, dead bugs, killing fire ants all included!!! Really great service and when we visit the house looks LIVED in!!! Clean and beautiful!! I CAN NOT BRAG ENOUGH ON THE VILLAGE SITTER!!!

I looked at your website.
I can't find a page about the rates you charge.
I'm not great with computers so perhaps I'm missing it.
I assume you have a standard monthly rate for Housewatch?
We are a TOTV sponsor. We offer complete home services including home watch for our clients. We are in the process of having a website built. Take a look and if you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to give us a call or send us an email at: don22560@yahoo.com 352.272.9924 or 352.391.2564

Our standard home watch is $45 a month. That price is for a weekly visit to your home and photos of the inside and outside of your home emailed to you each week. We would be more than glad to talk to you about any special requests or needs that you may have. We really strive to keep our clients satisfied and feeling safe and secure.
We have superb references.
Thanks for the info on your rate.
I love the fact that you would email pictures.
I often wonder how our trees and shrubs and lawn are doing.
Weekly pictures would certainly add a level of security and comfort when we're far, far away.

We also used Charlene and Steve for the past 18 months. They are great and always go above and beyond. We are now full time and I am not sure we do as good a job inspecting our home and yard. You will not be sorry if you choose them.
