Just a reminder to feed your palm trees in the beginning of July. I recommend this to all of our customers. Feed all your palms every 4-months starting the first week of March each year, by starting then we are past any chance of a hard freeze. Do not feed your palms from December through February because if you do, and we have mild weather the tree will bring out new growth that is very tender, and if we have a hard freeze that new growth will be hurt or killed. Use Lesco 8-02-12 fertilizer, this is the best feed you can buy for your palms. This feed can be purchased at John Deere Landscape in Leesburg on the corner of Griffin & Thomas St. Follow the instructions on the bag. By the way, this feed works well on all of your landscape plants. I know a lot of you have seen me post this before. I do this a few times every year for those that are new here to "The Villages" and not familiar with our weather, plants, and trees. Hope this info will help those wondering when to feed there palms, and what type of feed to use.
