We have never had "Bear Bear's coat "shaved" for the summer. Poor little doggie looks like "Yoda"... For those of you following "Bear's" exploits, he's now 14 and we adopted him two years ago. What a delight this little fella is.

Oh my, Skyguy I am still LOL at your post's image. Our other dog, Meg, keeps staring at Bear with a "who are YOU?" look on her face. Bear was groomed at PetSmart's salon on 441. He actually looks cute, but WHAT a change.

such a cutie!

We have an appt at PetSmart tomorrow (will be 1st time there) with our Shih-Tzu/Llasa mix, Chip.

Just took a before pic. We only let him go 6 weeks since last, he's too hot in the heat - so off it comes tomorrow and go with a puppy cut.
Won't be yoda - but now looks like a wookiee jedi.

Yes, Cisco, you are wise to do that.

we finally succombed to getting our 12-yr-old golden (also Bear) a summer cut for his last two summers with us. Everyone who didn't know him would ask how old the puppy was. Was kinda nice since we knew we wouldn't have him for much longer.

Bear looks like he may not be as happy with the cut as you.
I love that little face.

Saw that post, and commented "how sad" With all the beauty around us here in TV, and so many wonderful amenities to enjoy, what a pity the sad poster feels he must focus on something trivial. When compared to the pitiful lives of so many around the world (and here in the US), who have so little, the problem of dog waste pales into comparison

We really need to thank the Admins for being responsive.
That was a thread designed solely to inflame other posters.

Back to Shrandell's pictures.
What a cutie.
I remember when you adopted Bear at 12 years of age.
I thought it was wonderful.
I greatly admire anyone who adopts an older pet.
They have so much love to give.

This is the only place I have lived where the animals are an issue.

I usually try not to get sucked into the poop threads, they're just miserable people and never going to change.

So adorable. I love Yorkies, my daughter has one but he became my dog after a while. We had to leave him in NY with her when we moved , my husband is allergic to dogs. I miss him. He loves me.

That's a shame, how often does your husband get down here to visit?

I missed the poop thread, probably good. I pick up Bentley's poop and any other I see for good measure, and carry it all home to put in my trash. I am trying to be a good girl. Anyway, the puppy pictures are so cute!

Here's my sweet boy. I've never had him groomed, I may now that we're here. I usually just brush him twice a week or so. And then give him a full body massage. It is his reward for not being a barker/nipper and not having skin allergies and being completely housebroken with zero accidents in 1,253 days and counting. Knock on wood.

He is a West Highland Terrier, or a "White Schnauzer" to some people (not even close, but I love Schnauzers too). Westies do not shed but do tend to have skin allergies. My first Westie truly suffered from this. She was also a barker and could be a nipper if she didn't like what you were doing. You know, running, being really short, dressing in a UPS outfit, etc. Bentley, on the other hand, has the sweetest disposition of all the dogs I've ever owned. He is happy 24/7.

This is my dog Alex.
He is gone now.
( time out to cry )
This is probably the moment when he realized his life just got a lot better.
For awhile when I first got him I had to keep him in the garage with a heat lamp.
I was not sure he would be ok with the little dogs. And he was crazy.
I took this photo in the middle of the night.
He is sleeping in the lower 1/2 of a dog house. He was so scared when I got him
he would not come out of it. I had to take the top off of it , and take him to the vet that way. In the dog house. He had been left on a chain to die when his jailer moved. The photo is after a nice bath. That is just fur a bone laying there.

He never did out grow crazy.
