While searching for our new home we have come across Some new construction in this village that has been reduced. There are some nice homes listed. Want to know why the reduction in the prices and also would like the opinion of those that live in Collier likes, dislikes. Will be arriving next week to select our new home.

Thanks

We moved to Collier in Jan and enjoyed our first 4 months greatly. We're away for the summer and anxious to return in Oct. I'm not sure why price reduction, just be thankful.

I heard they made reductions ($40,000 or so) on about 9 properties that just haven't sold due to bad locations, lots, etc...
I also hear there are about 2,000 homes in inventory.
Good luck in your home search. Collier is a great area in my opinion.

Where can I find a listing for these 9 new homes that have been reduced $40,000. That sounds like a fantastic deal.

I think most of the reductions are on lots with premiums for golf course or water views. Go to this link to search for all new homes.

We spent our first winter (yesssssss a dreaded snowbird) in Collier. LOVE our neighbors, LOVE the neighborhood and think it's one of the best & friendliest Villages!! We love it there and can't wait to come back WHEN IT'S COOLER! :)

I think the price reductions are there to close out a neighborhood or street. Some of the homes were completed and have been for sale for a long time. One of the homes that is discounted (not in Collier) has a view that my wife and I joke about. On the golf course with an unobstructed view of the golf course bathroom just behind the lanai.

YUCK!! -- But that is our opinion. Someone will come in and love the view and buy the house :)

We bought in Collier in Jan. when we sold in Fernandina. We like it for the location (close to square and grocery shopping etc), close to FL Turnpike, and our view. The other advantage is we bought after most of the new construction, thus avoiding the constant truck traffic, dirt, dust, and NAILS! But where ever you buy you'll like here!

Go to the link that russtcc provided and then refine the search by clicking on 'search homes' from the menu on the left
and then click on 'new homes' under the search tab and 'collier' under the village tab. Voilla!

The builder has frequently reduced homes when a particular Village/unit is almost sold out ...just to finish out the unit. If you go to the website, you will also see homes that have been reduced in Pinellas and Hillsborough.
We have a home in Collier.. . We love our view, have wonderful neighbors, and love being so close to Brownwood.

I'm in Collier and LOVE it -- close to Brownwood, close to Eisenhower Recreation Center, close to Evans Prairie Country Club, close to the Interstate, and be still my beating heart, close to not one but two antique malls (but that is me). Oh, and close to the Russell Stover outlet, LOL! As other posters have mentioned, if a neighborhood is closing out they will discount the few remaining houses to finish out that section.
