Sparing you the details, the Villages Health, with whom I am very happy, was unable to negotiate a new contract with Humana health insurance. I have Humana and will stay with them. That's business, and I get it.
Thus I need a new doctor, general practioner, primary care physician. I don't care about nationality, but I just want someone good, and close by, with good being the primary factor. I'll check them out to see if they are in the Humana network. Any recommendations?

I always recommend my Dr to everyone on TOTV. We REALLY like him a lot!
I am so happy we found him. He is an Internist. He does not rush and is very detailed.

Both of my parents had Dr Norman Novis while they were at Lady Lake Specialty. I was happy with the care he gave them as were they.
His office is on 466 just west of Rolling Acres.

I ditto Dr. M-C. He is so patient-oriented. Small office, by himself, nice staff. And you can email him personally. He checks his emails twice a day. He encourages you to email him with any questions.

I recently got the same info that as of June 30th my retired teacher's insurance from Ohio, First Health is no longer a part of the Villages Health Care network. So disappointed as I really was feeling comfortable there. Not sure what I am going to do and also was going to ask on TOTV for Dr. recommendations. Thank you again to TOTV for coming through for a list of recommended doctors. Keep the suggestions coming as I will need a list to call about First Health/Medical Mutual insurance. Probably quite a few other Ohio teachers here in The Villages with the same situation.

I have Med mutual of Ohio from my husbands union. See if you can get online to their site to check docs in area. My member card has PHCS on it when out of state to look for providers. PM me for all the specialist under that code that I use. Specialist are the hard ones to locate close to TV.

I hope that your search for a Humana provider in The Villages area was successful.
I also have Humana insurance, but my primary care physician decided not to remain as an in-network provider. So far, most of the physician's recommended are not in-network for Humana... did you ever find any physicians that are in network that are GOOD?

Based on all of the wonderful reviews on Dr. Martinez-Cruz, we are seeing him as new patients next week. I had an excellent primary dr. until his practice got too big and he has little time to spend with his patients. I think some docs can only see $$$ signs!

Hands down -- Dr. Martinez Cruz!
My husband and I both go to Dr. Martinez and like him very much.
And BTW -- his last name is Martinez, not Cruz. Cruz was his mother's maiden name. If you don't understand how Spanish/Latin names work, you won't understand. Takes too long to explain in writing here, but trust me -- these Latin names all make sense while giving you a bit of family history.

True; however, when his staff answers the phone or leaves a message on yours, they say This is "Dr. Martinez-Cruz's office calling." And the sign on his office building says Dr. Martinez Cruz. It's a mouthful. I'd love to call him just Dr. Martinez. Think I'll ask him about it when I go in October. He's that approachable!

If someone follows the true traditional way of using names in Spanish, you will always know if a woman is single, married, a widow, or divorced, and her name changes with each one of these steps (a real pain in the neck!). I have not known many women who after marriage, follow through with the additional name changes, if a divorce or widowhood took place in her life. A man's name will be a combination of his father's name and his mother's maiden name. It's all very interesting.
Dr. Martinez will be happy to talk about the derivation of his name, I'm sure. Yes -- he is that nice!
