An earlier post asked what insurance does Villages Hospital accept...but isnt the real question what insurance plans does Villages Hospital (and their Doctors) Participate in. Most PPO doctors accept payment from all insurance companies but if they are not participating your insurance company pays at a lower percentage rate and you are left to pay the difference. Also be aware that a doctor or service provider may accept a PPO insurance plan but the same Dr or service provider will NOT accept a HMO insurance plan. YOu need to be very specific

If you simply ask a Doctor/ Hospital/ or Urgent Care Clinic the question "do you accept ______insurance?" you will in many cases get a yes but still be left with a major bill to pay. Its not the real question you should be asking. The question should be "Is the Doctor/service provider a "Particpating" member of my specific insurance plan...then you can assure yourself the best coverage possible that your insurance offers.

Ahaaa! I'm the culprit! doh

Let me then ask: The Villages Hospital (and most of its' doctors) is a participating member in what insurance plans?

Thanks for the clarification.
