Hello to all our new friends

My wife Maryann and I will be moving to The Villages around the first week in July and look forward to meeting all of our future friends. In the mean time any help you could give us as to recommending Doctors, Dentists, eateries and best places to shop for furnishings etc. would be greatly appreciated. Our new home will be in the Village of Lake Deaton.

Welcome!

All of the restaurants are pretty good, but my personal favorites that are close to you are the Evans Prairie Country Club and The Lighthouse on Lake Sumter Landing. Also, the Southern Cotillion in Wildwood is pretty good.
For furnishings I'd start looking at City Furniture. Find a doctor in the Villages Health group if you can. As for a dentist, I'm still looking myself and hope someone else makes a recommendation.

Furniture: We looked around a lot.............ended up at Babettes Furniture in Leesburg. Ask for Tim.............good guy. Good quality stuff.

A shade lower quality would be at Rooms To Go, also in Leesburg. We talked to Tammy a number of times. Really liked her.

We did get Lanai furniture at Perfect Porch......Guess where???.....yep, Leesburg. There is cheaper stuff out there, but we went for quality.

We really did look outside Leesburg :-)

We have been seeing Dr. Heydari as our new dentist for about 9 months now. Both hubby and I like him. He is located across 466A from Colony Plaza. Aesthetic Dental (352) 633-2467. He takes my Aetna Insurance. I'm real picky when it comes to dentists. I recently needed a root canal and he referred me to Dr. Ghazal, Endodontist in Laurel Manor. He was fabulous. I was in and out in about 50 minutes with absolutely zero pain. I would highly recommend both of these docs.

Kane's in Ocala, RTE 200, was good quality furniture, at a reasonable price. See Paul Chase, a nice man, who will take the time to show you, what's available.

American Freight on 17th St, is right around the corner, for "Rooms To Go" quality, with a reduced price tag.

Hi Jim and Mary,

We are looking at Lake Deaton also. Our house went into escrow yesterday. We had our termite inspection today and it went fine. We will be moving the end of July. Looking forward to meeting new friends.

Hello new soon-to-be Villagers! We are also closing on a new home in Lake Deaton the same time as you. What an exciting time! We can't make any suggestions about doctors, etc but we have been to The Villages often enough to know the good restaurants. Would love to share what we both learn about our new home to be.
