Has anyone with glassed-in lanais had a separate air-conditioner and/or heater unit installed that they are happy with? We have been told a Mitshubishi unit is best for our lanai as our windows aren't double E.

We have an LG 10,000 BTU unit, from Home Depot, that vents out side, both cools and works as a dehumidifier. Right around $300.

My neighbor has a CYV that he enclosed the lanai and has a similar unit that he purchased from Home Depot a. In addition to cooling, it has a heating element in it to take the chill out on the cooler days during the winter. He has an east facing lanai and is also very happy with the unit.
I would say look at the most powerful unit. You can always turn it down or off if the temp gets uncomfortable.

Do not install "the most powerful unit"... This unit will constantly short cycle...less comfortable and more costly to operate.
