View Full Version : I am very annoyed .............

Drove to Ancient Olive today, parked under a tree almost outside their back door and suddenly heard a young voice scream "Son of a B...h" that's my spot". I looked over at a young woman in a small blue car who was literally screaming at me ...................

To add insult to injury shopped at Publix in Southern Trace and turned to exit in an Exit Only lane and two cars were coming in the Exit Only lane, one (a well dressed woman) actually threw me the middle finger.

Welcome to The Villages .................

OK, that's my rant for the day.

I don't blame you. If I could find the woman in the blue car, I would beat her up for you. I have never done that before, but I would try.. You are a nice person.

I would be very very annoyed, too...thank goodness there are so many nice people here to offset the not-so-nice ones.

What ever happen to the posse gang with water squirt guns? You should get that going again, lol.

OP sorry that happened to you but some people are plain rude. There is no excuse for that behavior but it seems road rage is becoming normal lately. I sure don't remember this type of behavior years ago. I wonder why its so prevalent now? Its not isolated to TV either, its everywhere.

I hope you killed them with kindness, a big smile, waved, and told them to have a good day. Nothing is more annoying to such a jerk, than a kind word. Works every time!

Changin' times..........oh so true
I've learned sooooooooo much by talking with restaurant people. Its amazing what us seniors can come up with
1. Eat half your 1/4 pounder in Ocala on your drive back home around noon. Then, when you get to dinner time (5pm or so) find a BK and show them the 1/2 eaten burger and tell them the meat tastes funny. They give you another one, free
2. Steal all the sugar packs and take the salt and pepper shakers
3. Grab a large handful of napkins to take home
4. Eat at a buffet and fill your purse or pockets with napkin wrapped food to go
5. Ask for extra bread or rolls and take them all home
6. Complain so loudly and aggressively in hopes you'll get a free meal

That's disgusting and tasteless. Boo.

Madeleine, I'm glad the two in the exit lane didn't hit you. If it were the Magnum, I'd be devastated.

Self-absorbed and poor upbringing.

Ancient Olive is kind of expensive, but great stuff. If you like raspberries try the raspberry balsamic vinegar - it really is amazing and they are the nicest people.

LOL Funny you mention that!!! We do our walk at LSL, and after go to Panera for coffee & some yummy. Usually we are 3 guys, that grab a table where we can watch people come in, and take free coffee with their own coffee mugs. Some come in after a tedious bike ride, and take free soda's etc. We too see them take extra tea bags and put them in their pocket. I guess that's the sign of the times???? We feel good paying, but not so good watching people take for free!!

The price of homes have risen so high that only people with means........and by means...I mean money with moods... can only afford most homes so.......

Used to be old grumpy which I could excuse a little easier cause I might be one someday...now its spoiled money which I will probably never be.......

Unfortunately, too many have the me-me-me attitude. It is a learned attitude and for that, we can thank ole Dr. Spock and his teachings about self-esteem. There is nothing wrong with establishing self-esteem, but there is plenty wrong in how that is done. There is a definite, not fine, line between self-esteem and selfish.

Sumter Landing - I believe it is Canal Street, about half way up from the actual square in the same area as the wine bar.

There's a saying that we used to say..."THAT person shows a lot of class...mostly lower!" I'm always shocked when someone shows their true colors like that...must make their kids and grandkids proud!!!

I'm so sorry that happened to you and I'd be ranting as well!!!

Well, snowbirds do move into The Villages, you know. We'll be there in January-March, 2015 in a rental. (I know: oh, no, another one!). Rudeness is a reflection on the rude idiot. Most of our generation is polite. Devious, maybe, but polite. We look forward to our 3 months in The Villages. We were there for 2 weeks in December and decided to try it for 3 months to see if we want to make it permanent. However, at 81, "permanent" is a relative term.

People go to B&N, sit in the cafe without making a purchase, read a book & return it to the shelf after marking their place so they can continue reading on their next visit.
Rude or just cheap?

Neither. B&N has been inviting people to do that for decades.

It's cheap. Buy the book and read it at home. You can read for free at the library.

But the nice thing is that none of us have to act that way. While the "kill them with kindness" is probably the right thing to do, the squirt gun posse sounds like a lot more fun. I have found the vast majority of people are fantastic and a pleasure to be and live around. Keep smilin' and keep ev'ryone guessing.

Maybe so. But that's B&N's decision. they must have some market study that told them it brings more potential buyers into the store.
