How are we going to add 250,00 more people in the next 6 years if TV is reaching build-out soon? That's 2 1/2 times our present population. Small developments and RV parks wouldn't add very much to that number. Where did they get those numbers and where are they going live?

There is a lot of open land between the Turnpike & 44 and more to the west.

The Villages South maybe????

Taken from a state website:

"The proposed Turnpike interchange would serve the rapidly growing tri-county area that includes northeastern Sumter County and adjacent areas in Lake and Marion counties. It is projected that the total population within the tri-county area will grow from approximately 515,000 today to more than 770,000 by the year 2020. This new interchange is vital for the continued economic growth and vitality of the community."

The Villages interchange has been put on a slight delay to fix problems at the 301/Turnpike interchange first.

I agree seems a large number even for the 3 counties in 6 years. This whole area is growing and perhaps the State knows something we don't.

Typical government forecasting methods, take the last 6 years, do an average and then trend it forward without any consideration of underlying facts or reasonable realities.:MOJE_whot:

21 Million Baby Boomers will retire in next 6 years.

If Tri County brought in 1 out of 400 ...that is 54,000 right there.....
...............................................if they bring a Spouse that is 108,000.

..add those who young people who will get the Jobs that are coming soon to Orlando
and The Space Coast....holy cow.....

Has anyone been to the Clermont area on US 27 ? then went East on Hwy 50...
......it is in LAKE County and is having much growth.
It is becoming a "Bigger" Bedroom Community for THOUSANDS of NEW Jobs.

Can you say Space Coast, with new projects by
.....................>>>.....Northrup-Grumann...
.....................>>>.....Boeing....
......................>>>....Port Canaveral Expansion ( Cruise and Freight)
......................>>>....SpaceX
......................>>>....Harris

then add Greater Orlando new projects...
......................>>>....Orlando Int'l Airport, Billion $ Expansion
......................>>>....Deloitte.
......................>>>....VA Medical Center
......................>>>....The Entire Medical City that is being Built.

......Central Florida is BOOMING...for those with Technical skills .

then..you can add all the jobs needed to Support the High Paying Jobs from
the Above 9 projects. ( those 9 are the Tip of The Iceberg...there are many
more projects not mentioned... on the drawing boards)

The people will have to live somewhere.
Not necessarily around The Villages. But possibly in the Tri County area.

I personally do not see anywhere near 255,000 growth in Tri County ( Lake, Sumter and Marion )
in next 6 years...but..time will tell. But..greater Orlando should certainly see HUGE growth.
