There is that.
My Old English was completely hand and voice trained. There is no way I would have put him through what that guy put his Aussie through. Heck, if I'd been a dog, he wudda gotten bit for showing me off that way.

One of our dogs knew the name of 13 different dog toys. He would retrieve each on command. He also learned to ring a bell to go out and " go potty " when told. Just takes a lot of training time and a smart breed. No more dogs of our own :( We just doggy sit now.

I'm with you. I want a well-behaved dog but refuse to train the stuffing out of him. He's not my toy; he's my companion.
