... and 40 years for us. For us it has been a wonderful investment - hard and stressful at times but wonderful all the same.

Still can't get a second date. My momma always told me it was impolite to propose on a first date, so never married.

30 years ago I married for the first time, and I was his third. I thought the third time was the "charm" and it lasted for 30 years but no more. There will never be a second time for me. I'm never gonna do it again. Some people say to me, never say never, I still say never....!!!

Not so shy, Kathie

Been married once for 32 years...divorced...then reunited...been living together but not remarried for the past 4 1/2 years...sooooo...total time together is 36 years with one year apart. We're married but divorced...is that an oxymoron or what!

Twice,

1st time lasted 2 years......Dont ever marry an over the road truck driver, however he did leave me with one great gift, my beautiful daughter!

2nd time 36 years and holding! Much better choice 2nd time around.

Brightspot,

Gotta ask you, are things much better just living with him rather then married to him?

Love to hear about all you folks from Brooklyn. You make my heart sing. Do you, or will you all join the Brooklyn club ? I'm from East Flatbush myself. After we got married we moved out to Long Island. This coming May 4th, we will be married for 50 years. I couldn't have planned it any better. We are closer now that we are retired then we have ever been. Feel very lucky, It's been a great life and it will get even better when we get to The Villages.

Married only once. 41+ years (2008 would be 50), but she died of a variety of cancers in 2000. I'm perfectly happy remaining a single. I "protect" myself by continuing to wear my wedding ring. Of course, it matters that I can't even hope to get it off, anymore!
My brother and his wife just celebrated 61 years. Last year, on their 60th, she announced firmly, "You know that you're still on trial?" He didn't reply to that remark!

Hi,

First marriage lasted 15 years and present one - just celebrated our 30th Anniv.

We must be getting old, we were so busy with life, we forgot it was our Anniv. Kids reminded us.

We are a very romantic couple, spent our 30th in Laurel, MD due to an ice storm. We were on our way to TV. Our romantic dinner was take out from Arby's.

And now we are here in TV.

The wrong men asked.
Unfortunately, the right one didn't.

Just marked our 42nd. Some real highs and one low, but a good marriage I'd say.
